Carrier for Driving Sprocket or Needle Bearing, Replace

Knock out needle bearing using Tool KM-J-26941 in conjunction with KM-313 and KM-483.

Install new needle bearing using Tool KM-J-28677 in conjunction with KM-J-8092.

Note:    Insert needle bearing so that identification marking points upwards.

If carrier is damaged, it should be replaced.

Note:    If necessary, remove seal ring in converter housing - see operation "Seal Ring in Converter Housing, Replace" in this group.

Unscrew bolts using Torx No. 40 and remove carrier from main case.

Install new carrier and screw on tight - torque 24 Nm/17.70 lbf. ft.

Note:    Install seal ring in converter housing - see operation "Seal Ring in Converter Housing, Replace" in this group.

Carrier for Driven Sprocket or Needle Bearing, Replace

Important: When replacing needle bearing, race of driven sprocket should be inspected for wear.

                  If race is worn or damaged, driven sprocket should be completely replaced.

Knock out needle bearing using Tool KM-J-26941 in connection with KM-313 and KM-483.

Install new needle bearing using Tool KM-J-28677 in connection with KM-J-8092.

Note:    Insert needle bearing so that identification marking points upwards.

Important: When replacing needle bearing, race of driven sprocket should be inspected for wear.

                 If race is worn or damaged, driven sprocket should be completely replaced.

Conversion when Replacing Main Case

Remove governor fluid cooler line (1) from main case and install in new main case using Locking Compound 15 10 177 (90 167 347).

Remove pawl (2) for parking pawl and install in new main case.

Remove 2 centering pins (1) and insert in new main case.

Note:    Carrier (2) for driving sprocket does not need to be converted. New main case is supplied with carrier.
