Selector Lever Position Switch, Adjust

On Vehicles without Catalytic Converter:

On vehicles without catalytic converter the selector lever position switch is on the selector lever.

In this case no adjustment of the selector lever position switch is necessary, as its mounting position is fixed by two retaining screws.

On Vehicles with Catalytic Converter:

On vehicles with catalytic converter the selector lever position switch is on the selector lever shaft on the transmission.

If a new selector lever position switch is being installed (neutral position "N") its mounting position is fixed by an integrally cast polyamide pin with approx. 1 mm/0.04 in. diameter.

Adjustment:    Set selector lever shaft in position "N" (neutral).

Install selector lever position switch with polyamide pin in correct mounting position and secure with 2 screws (M8) - torque.

                          Install transmission selector lever.

Note: The polyamide pin is sheared off at the first shifting operation.

If a selector lever position switch is being reinstalled (neutral position "N"), its mounting position is fixed by a suitable pin (approx. 1 mm/0.04 in. diameter).

Note: This pin is removed again after the selector lever position switch has been installed and secured.

Adjustment: See above.
