Remedy:
Re 1: Coat shift tube (1) in area of bushing of
shift lever housing (1) with new grease, Part No. 90 167 353,
Catalogue No. 19 70 206.
Important:
The grease specified in TI - C -
59, group K - 77 has only been used for a brief period of time in
production, as it caused sluggish shifting when cold. Therefore, in the
event of this type of complaint, remove this grease and lubricate with the
above grease, moving the gearshift tube (1) in the bushing forwards and
backwards in the shift levels 1/2 and 3 / 4.
Remove shift lever as described in the
relevant Service Instructions under "Hand Shift Lever, Remove and
Install".
Before installing shift lever, note the
following:
Remove any grease present at shift
lever ball, shift finger and their seats. In doing so check damping ring of
shift lever ball for damage; if damaged, replace.
Subsequently coat shift lever ball and shift
finger with Grease, Part No. 90 167 353, Catalogue No.
19 70 206 and install shift lever.
