Instructions for Test Programs
The test steps can be found in the trouble-shooting chart according to the fault description.
When checking, the procedure described in the test steps must be followed precisely.
If the desired nominal value is not attained for a test step, the fault must be eliminated. Then assemble the system and check the function.
When using a multimeter, note that the correct range specified in the test steps must always be set before connection of the measuring leads.
During checks, there may be deviations in the lead colours in individual cases. We therefore recommend that, for vehicles as of MY '94, the circuit diagrams for the relevant Model Year in the Technical Information Bulletins (TI) be used.
