Checking and Adjusting
Operations
Headlamps, High and Low
Beam, Adjust Both
A flat and level surface in
compliance with the regulations is necessary for adjustment of the headlamps,
since even minor irregularities in the surface can have significant effects on
the accuracy of the adjustment.
Bring tyre pressures to
prescribed level.
Load vehicle as follows:
The rear seat with one person or 75 kg/165 lbs.
The
vehicle should otherwise be unloaded e.g. at curb weight = weight of the
vehicle ready for operation with the fuel tank completely filled including the
weight of all equipment carried during normal operation such as spare wheel,
tools, vehicle jack and similar items.
After
loading the vehicle, roll it forwards a short distance so that the springs
are correctly adjusted.
Adjust
low beam individually for each headlamp.
Check
vertical and lateral adjustment one after the other.
