Wiring Harness - Tail Gate, Replace

Remove

Remove tail gate inner trim panel.

(not for saloon notchback).

Disconnect wiring harness at plug connection from rear wiring harness.

Saloon - Hatchback

(Illus. C 1802 "A"):

Disconnect wiring harness from motor for central door locking - if fitted.

Pull wiring harness from tail gate ribs and D pillar.

Pull off rubber grommets and push onto new wiring harness.

Saloon - GSi/GTE

(Illus. C 1802 "B"):

Disconnect wiring harness from motor for central door locking - if fitted.

Pull wiring harness from tail gate ribs and D pillar.

Pull off rubber grommets and push onto new wiring harness.

Saloon - Notchback

(Illus. C 1803 "C"):

Disconnect wiring harness from motor for central door locking - if fitted.

Remove straps and pull wiring harness from luggage compartment lid ribs.

Estate

(Illus. C 1803 "D"):

Disconnect wiring harness from

-     Heated rear screen

-     Wiper motor

-     Motor for central door locking system.

Pull wiring harness from tail gate ribs and D pillar.

Pull off rubber grommets and push onto new wiring harness.

Install

Analogously in reverse order.
