Equalizer, Service Install
Up to Model Year 1989:
The equalizer is installed in the centre console instead of the parcel shelf.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove parcel shelf from centre console.
To do this, release two upper retaining lugs and lift parcel shelf out of lower retainer.
On vehicles with catalytic converter, press out parcel shelf from upper centre console.
Insert equalizer in frame, screw in from side and connect electrically according to circuit diagram.

3 Positive connection to radio terminal, switched +
4 4 loudspeaker connections
5 Connection (red) to radio for front left loudspeaker
6 Connection to radio for front right loudspeaker

Connect positive lead to fuse box terminal "30".
To do this, install adapter sleeve.
Screw ground lead to steering column support with self-tapping screw and toothed lock washer.
Install bracket in vehicles with catalytic converter bracket.
To do this, remove self-tapping screw from centre console.
Insert bracket and screw down firmly.
Insert lower part of equalizer frame in console and push upper part into catches.

Connect battery ground cable.
Check equalizer for proper functioning
