General Safety Measures and Repair Instructions
Safety measures:
· Never disconnect or connect wiring harness plugs from/to control units with the ignition switched on.
· Disconnect battery from the vehicle electrical system before charging or quick-charging.
· Never use a quick-charger for starting.
· Caution when touching voltage-bearing parts of the ignition system!
· When removing/installing components from/to the engine/transmission, ensure that the ground connections from the engine/transmission to the battery are reconnected. Poor or missing ground connections can lead to destruction of the control unit.
· Remove control units at temperatures above 80 °C/176 °F (drying ovens).
Repair Instructions:
After disconnecting the battery, reprogram
- clock - board computer - electronic window winders - radio stations (coding),
if necessary.
