· The voltage level
recognized by control unit at the relevant transmission control unit output
is Low (0 V), although control unit output was set at High (12 V;1-2/3-4
shift solenoid valve is actuated)
(short circuit to ground, Ter. 31)
· With ignition ON the
fault is immediately recognized.
· If the fault appears
after the engine is started, it is only recognized after the solenoid valve
is actuated.
If trouble
code 17 was recognized, shifting can still be made manually (emergency
program) to the following gears at the individual driving speeds:

Transmission AF 14/20:
"Driving
stage" (gear): "D" (4), "3" (3), "2" (3),
"1" (1)
Automatic
Transmission AF 13/22:
"Driving
stage" (gear): "D" (4), "3" (4), "2" (3),
"1" (1)
