Automatic Transmission as of Model Year '90

·   The fault is recognized when the ignition is switched ON

     and the engine is running

     (short circuit in pressure regulator solenoid valve circuit)

Note:

Trouble code 42 is also stored if a malfunction of

the alternator affects the AT control unit.

If trouble code 42 was recognized, shifting can still be made manually (emergency program) to the following gears at the individual driving speeds:

Automatic Transmission AF 14/20:

"Driving stage" (gear): "D" (4), "3" (3), "2" (3), "1" (1)

Automatic Transmission AF 13/22:

"Driving stage" (gear): "D" (4), "3" (4), "2" (3), "1" (1)
