A/C CUTOFF RELAY

Vehicles with AC:

Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

AC switch ON

Note:

Vehicle interior should be warm, set thermostat to "COLD", set ventilation to full load;

Compressor switches on automatically;

In some vehicles it is necessary to accelerate briefly or wait for a while until the compressor switches on;

Vehicle stationary

Selector lever in N

Engine running at idle speed

Depress accelerator pedal briefly to full load stop

(full throttle)

or

Vehicle on incline

Select "Winter Program"

From a standstill, accelerate with throttle valve aperture greater than 80 %

The AC cutoff relay is switched on by the control unit if the vehicle speed is less than 22 km/h (14 mph), the throttle valve aperture is greater than 80 % for longer than 1 s, and the vehicle acceleration is less than

0.55 m/s². These values may vary slightly for the various vehicle/engine/transmission configurations.
