Selector Lever Position Switch, Adjust (as of MY '96) > < Selector Lever Console, Remove and Install - as of MY '96

 

Selector Lever Position Switch, Check (as of MY '96)  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

For RHD vehicles: set selector lever to position "N". Remove battery and battery support.  

Detach wiring harness plug (1) for selector lever position switch - open striker in direction of arrow. Connect KM-962 (3) to wiring harness plug for selector lever position switch and connect cigarette lighter - for vehicles with right-hand drive connect to battery with KM-962-10 (2).

Switch on ignition. Select all gears in sequence. For each individual gear the LED corresponding to the markings on the plug-in check-display must illuminate. (Illus. G 4733 shows the check in selector lever position "N").  

If malfunctioning: Adjust selector actuation Bowden cable and selector lever position switch - see operation "Selector Actuation Bowden cable, Adjust (from MY '96)" and "Selector Lever Position Switch, Adjust (from MY '96)". Check electrical operation of selector lever position switch - see current Checking Procedures.

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Switch off ignition. Disconnect KM-962 from wiring harness plug for selection lever position switch and from cigarette lighter or battery.  

Connect wiring harness plug for selector lever position switch and lock.  

For vehicles with RHD: Attach battery support - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft. Install battery.
