Impact absorber corrosion protection - Corsa-C, Meriva, Vectra-C, Signum

If the front and rear impact absorber (crossmember support) and impact barrier (crossmember) are replaced, the new parts must no longer be painted in the service department.

When the parts are fitted the following steps must be taken into consideration and adhered to in order to maintain corrosion protection.

Chronological procedure / process steps (example of Meriva):

Object Number: 3446472 Size: DEFAULT

1. Prepare contact surfaces / drilled holes with primer
2. Install new components / tighten to torque (arrows)
3. Paint remaining drilled holes
4. Apply cavity protection / protective wax to contact surfaces and connecting flanges

Same procedure applies to Corsa-C, Vectra-C and Signum vehicles.
