Brake Fluid Reservoir, Remove and Install (LHD Vehicles) > < Brake Lines, Replace

Brake Lines, Partial Replacement

  Remove

1.   Pull seal (1) away from plenum chamber as far as necessary
•   Raise covering flap (2) for brake master cylinder
2.   Detach closure cap (3) from brake fluid reservoir.
•   Correct brake fluid reservoir so that it reaches the "MAX" mark
•   Seal with MKM-558-10 (4)

Important:   The separation point must be positioned near a fastening point – clip (1) or shackle. Only one separation point per brake line is permissible
3.   Detach fastening bolt (2) for clip
•   Detach brake lines
•   Cut brake lines with pipe cutter and deburr
•   Place union nut (3) onto brake pipe and flange pipe end
Note:   Avoid deformation of remaining brake lines.
4.   Clean connections.

  Install

5.   Insert connecting piece, connect and screw on brake line - tightening torque 16 Nm
6.   Insert brake line in clip
•   Attach with fastening bolt
7.   Remove MKM-558-10 (1) from brake fluid tank.
8.   Bleed brake system and check for leaks LUREF_1.gif
9.   Install closure cap (2) on brake fluid reservoir
10.   Close closure cap (4)
•   Place seal (3) on plenum chamber
