High-pressure pump - Z 13 DT DOHC diesel engine

The Z 13 DT DOHC diesel engine is fitted with the CP 1 high-pressure pump from Bosch.

This enables the pressure accumulator to reach a maximum pressure of 1400 bar.

The task of the high-pressure pump is to make the required system pressure available in the pressure accumulator. For the high-pressure pump to work an admission pressure of (2...4) bar is required which is generated by an electric fuel pump in the tank in accordance with the ignition timing adjustment.

The high-pressure pump is mounted on the cylinder head on the transmission side and is driven by a camshaft.
