Replace rear crankshaft seal ring (Z 10 XE, Z 10
XEP)
Note: Transmission
removed - operations "Removing and installing transmission" and
"Removing and installing automatic transmission" in group "K".
Remove
1. |
Remove thrust plate and clutch disk - see operation "Remove and
install thrust plate and clutch disk" in group "K"
|
2. |
Remove KM-6263 (1)
Note: Do not slacken
retaining bolt (3) and nut (4). KM-6263
setting remains unchanged.

Remove centring drift (2)
|
• |
Unscrew 4 bolts (arrows)
|
|
|
|
3. |
Remove crankshaft rear seal ring
• |
Place collecting basin underneath.
|
• |
Lever out crankshaft rear seal ring
Note: Do not damage
sealing surface
|
|
|
|
Install
5. |
Install rear crankshaft seal ring
• |
Coat sealing lip with silicon grease (white)
|
• |
Position KM-235-6 (2) on crankshaft
journal
|
• |
Slide seal ring (1) onto KM-235-6
|
• |
Drive in until flush using KM-658-1
(3)
|
|
6. |
Attach flywheel
• |
Clean thread in crankshaft
|
• |
Tighten 6x bolts 35 Nm + 30°
|
|
7. |
Insert guide bush into rear of crankshaft
|
|
|
9. |
Check engine oil level and correct if necessary
|
