Cylinder block - X 10 XE, Z 10 XE, X 12 XE and Z 12 XE engines

The cylinder block heights of the 1st generation X 10 XE, Z 10 XE, X 12 XE and Z 12 XE engines were brought into line in the 2nd generation Z 10 XEP and Z 14 XEP engines.

The cylinder block height of these engines was also increased by 0.15 mm.

The cylinder block height modification also introduced a thinner, single layer cylinder head gasket. This has also been used in the Z 10 XEP and Z 14 XEP engines.

The thicker two-layer cylinder head gasket is still available for the previously manufactured basic engines.

Before carrying out repairs that involve replacing the cylinder head gasket, the cylinder block can be easily identified by the embossed manufacturing date and the correct cylinder head gasket assigned.
