Remove and install exhaust gas recirculation
valve
Z 10 XE, Z 10 XEP, Z 12 XE, Z 14 XEP
 Remove
| 1. |
Release the pressure in the cooling system
| • |
Open coolant compensation tank
|
|
| 2. |
Drain coolant
| • |
Open drain bolt on radiator
|
|
| 3. |
Disconnect wiring harness plug from ignition module (1) and
exhaust gas recirculation valve (2)
| • |
Unclip wiring harness from bracket and set aside
|
|
|
|
| 4. |
Detach coolant hose (1) from exhaust gas recirculation
valve
|
| 5. |
Detach exhaust gas recirculation pipe (2) from exhaust gas
recirculation valve
|
| 6. |
Detach exhaust gas recirculation valve from cylinder head
| • |
Unscrew and remove 4 bolts (arrows)
|
|
| 7. |
Remove gasket residues and clean sealing surfaces
|
|
|
Install
| 8. |
Attach exhaust gas recirculation valve to cylinder head with
new gasket
| • |
Tighten 4 bolts (arrows), tightening torque 8 Nm .
|
|
| 9. |
Attach exhaust recirculation pipe (2) to exhaust recirculation
valve with new gasket – tightening torque 10 Nm
|
| 10. |
Attach coolant hose (1) to exhaust gas recirculation valve
|
|
|
| 11. |
Connect wiring harness plug to exhaust gas recirculation valve
(2) and ignition module (1)
| • |
Clip wiring harness into bracket
|
|
| 12. |
Close coolant drain bolt
| • |
Fill and bleed cooling system 
|
|
| 13. |
Check cooling system for leaks
|
|
|
|
