Dynamic Oil Level Check Sensor, Replace (Z 17 DTH, With Air Conditioning, LHD)

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
Important:   In vehicles as of model year 04 with ESP - every time the battery is disconnected, the steering angle sensor loses its basic setting and must be recalibrated
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Detach ground cable
3.   Remove oil filter element
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Unscrew oil filter housing cover (1)

4.   Raise vehicle
5.   Remove ribbed V-belt cover
•   Unscrew 3 bolts (1)
•   Remove clip (arrow)

6.   Drain engine oil
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Remove drain bolt
Object Number: 2416063 Size: DEFAULT

7.   Install drain bolt (3)
•   Replace seal ring
•   Tighten bolt 78.4 Nm
8.   Detach lower part of oil pan (1)
•   From upper part of oil pan (2)
•   Unscrew 15 bolts
Note:   Use KM-J-37228

9.   Remove dynamic oil level check sensor (5)
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug (4)
•   Unclip retaining clamp (3)
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (1 and 2)
•   Remove bracket
– Unscrew and remove 2x nut (6)
10.   Clean sealing surfaces
•   2x oil pan
11.   Inspect components

  Install

12.   Install dynamic oil level check sensor
•   Replace seal ring
•   Attach bracket
– Tighten 2 nuts
•   Tighten 3 bolts
•   Attach retaining clip
•   Connect wiring harness plug
13.   Attach oil pan lower section
Important:   The application of silicone sealing compound and installation of the lower part of the oil pan, including torque test, must be completed within 10 minutes
•   Apply silicone sealing compound
•   Tighten 15 bolts 9.8 Nm
14.   Attach ribbed V-belt cover
•   Tighten 3 bolts
•   Install clip
15.   Lower vehicle
16.   Install oil filter element
•   Replace seal ring
•   Tighten oil filter housing cover 23.5 Nm
17.   Top up engine oil
•   Start engine and allow to run until the oil check display lights up
•   Check and correct engine oil level
•   Observe specified engine oil quantity
18.   Connect battery
19.   Program volatile memory
20.   Close bonnet
