Inductive Impulse Sensor > < J815500 Pedal Sensor, Replace (Z 18 XE, with Air Conditioning, LHD)

J855510 Injectors, Replace (Z 18 XE, with Air Conditioning, LHD)

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
Note:   In vehicles from model year 04 onwards with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected and must be recalibrated.
•   Detach ground cable
3.   Remove engine cover.
•   Unscrew oil filler pipe cap
•   Unscrew 2 bolts
•   Screw on oil filler pipe cap
4.   Detach intake hose (1) from throttle valve module and hot film mass air flow meter
•   Detach engine vent hose (2)

5.   Remove wiring harness for engine management
•   Disconnect 3 wiring harness plugs
Catalytic converter control oxygen sensor (1), oil pressure switch (2), crankshaft sensor (3)
•   Unclip wiring harness
3 brackets

6.   Lower vehicle
7.   Disconnect camshaft sensor wiring harness plug
•   Unclip from bracket
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug
8.   Remove ground cable (1)
•   From alternator shackle
•   Unscrew nut (2)

Important:   Observe safety precautions and national regulations
9.   Release fuel pressure with KM-J-34730-91 on fuel distributor pipe
•   Unscrew test connection protective cap

10.   Remove fuel line
•   From fuel distributor pipe
11.   Detach engine vent hose from cylinder head cover
12.   Remove wiring harness for engine management
•   Disconnect 9 wiring harness plugs
Throttle valve adjuster (8), engine control unit (4), knock sensor (6), combination plug (7), EGR valve (3), ignition module (2), mixture regulation heated oxygen sensor (1), coolant temperature sensor (arrow)
•   Detach ground cable (5)
•   Remove 6x cable ties
•   Remove wiring trough
Unscrew from engine transport shackle
•   Set wiring harness to one side

13.   Remove fuel distributor pipe
•   Unscrew 2 bolts (arrows)
•   Pull out fuel distributor pipe with injectors and engine management wiring harness

14.   Detach plug strip for injectors
•   Unclip wire clip (1)
•   Remove plug strip for injectors

15.   Detach 4x injectors
•   Detach 4x retaining clamps (1)
•   Pull out 4x injectors

  Install

16.   Replace 8x seal rings, injectors (2)
•   Coat seal rings with engine oil
17.   Clean sealing surfaces, intake manifold
18.   Attach injectors
•   Insert 4x injectors
•   Attach 4 retaining clamps
Note:   Pay attention to installation position
19.   Attach plug strip for injectors
•   Clip in wire clip
20.   Install fuel distributor pipe
•   Connect fuel distributor pipe with injectors and engine management wiring harness
•   Tighten 2x bolts 8 Nm
21.   Attach wiring harness for engine management
•   Attach wiring trough
Tighten bolt
•   Route wiring harness
•   Connect 8x wiring harness plugs
•   Connect ground cable.
•   Fasten cable tie
22.   Attach engine vent hose
23.   Attach fuel line
•   Tighten nut 15 Nm
24.   Connect wiring harness plug from camshaft sensor
•   Clip to bracket
25.   Connect ground cable.
•   Tighten nuts
26.   Raise vehicle
27.   Attach wiring harness for engine management
•   Route wiring harness
•   Connect 3 wiring harness plugs
•   Attach wiring harness
28.   Lower vehicle
29.   Install intake hose
•   Attach engine vent hose
•   Connect 2 wiring harness plugs
30.   Install engine cover.
•   Unscrew oil filler pipe cap
•   Insert retaining lugs
•   Tighten 2x bolts 8 Nm
•   Screw on oil filler pipe cap
31.   Connect battery
32.   Calibrate steering angle sensor
•   Switch on ignition
•   Rotate the steering wheel one time from its right-hand to its left-hand stop
33.   Program volatile memories
34.   Close bonnet
