Replace differential gear tapered roller bearing
(F23)
 Remove
Important: Basically, the inner
rings and outer rings of the differential gear tapered roller
bearing must be replaced together.

Dismantle transmission
|
|
| 2. |
Place KM-6118-2 on the inner ring of
the differential gear tapered roller bearing (2)
Note: The edge (arrow)
of KM-6118-2 must grip the tapered roller
bearing below the cage.

|
| 3. |
Attach KM-6118-1 to KM-6118-2 (2)
Important: When attaching KM-6118-1 to KM-6118-2 , do not jam or twist it.
|

Tighten 2x bolt (arrows)
|
|
|
|
| 4. |
Push differential gear (4) out of tapered roller bearing inner
ring with KM-500-5 (2)
Important: Support KM-6118 (3) so that the differential gear hangs
freely and cannot be damaged as it is pushed out
|

with the workshop press (1)
|
|
|
|
| 5. |
Remove shim (2) from tapered roller bearing inner ring bearing
seating
Important: Note the arrangement
of the shims (2) on the transmission housing side and clutch
housing side of the differential gear (1)

Clean bearing seating and shims
|
|
|
| 6. |
Remove second differential gear tapered roller bearing inner
ring
|
|
Important: Note the arrangement
of the shims (2) on the transmission housing side and clutch
housing side of the differential gear (1)
|
| 7. |
Place 2x shim (2) on the bearing seating of the tapered roller
bearing inner ring
|
|
|
Important: Support the
differential gear on KM-522 to prevent
damage to the lower tapered roller bearing.
|
| 8. |
Push 2x new inner rings for differential gear tapered roller
bearing (2) with 2x KM-522 (1) onto
differential gear until flush
|
|
|
| 9. |
Attach bearing extractor KM-6113 (2)
to transmission housing

Insert KM-6113 in outer ring of
differential gear tapered roller bearing (4)
| – |
Insert claws of KM-6113 in grooves
(arrows) in transmission housing
|
|
| • |
Expand extractor claw in differential gear tapered roller
bearing outer ring
| – |
Counterhold spindle (1)
|
|
|
|
|
| 10. |
Remove outer ring for tapered roller bearing of differential
gear from transmission housing (3)
| • |
Counterhold spindle of KM-6113
(2)
|
| • |
Clean bearing seating in transmission housing
|
|
|
| 11. |
Remove outer ring for tapered roller bearing of differential
gear from clutch housing
|
Install
|
| 12. |
Install 2x new outer ring for tapered roller bearing of
differential gear (1)
| • |
Insert outer ring of tapered roller bearing in transmission
housing
|
| • |
Drive outer ring of tapered roller bearing into transmission
housing with KM-6114 (3) and KM-523-1 (2)
|
| • |
Insert outer ring of tapered roller bearing in clutch
housing
|
| • |
Drive outer ring of tapered roller bearing into clutch housing
with KM-6114 and KM-523-1
|
|
|
| 13. |
Assemble transmission
|
|
