Lock Cylinder for Front Door, Replace

Remove

Remove inner door trim panel.

Remove water vapour barrier.

Loosen rear rail of sash window.

Detach control linkage.

Remove clip forward from housing.

Lift lock cylinder out through bore hole in door.

Remove lock cylinder from housing.

Insert ignition key into lock cylinder.

Force screwdriver between housing and carrier.

Press casting C and carrier D from housing.

Pull lock cylinder out of housing.

Remove snap ring E.

Install

Install in reverse order.

Grease lock cylinder.

Installation sequence:

1     Ignition key

2     Lock cylinder

3     Snap ring (new part)

4     Housing

5     Seal

6     Spiral spring

7     Carrier

8     Casting (carrier)

Ensure that the spiral spring ends 6 are installed crossed on housing.

Press carrier 7 together with casting 8 into place on housing.
