Heater Mat – Leather Rear Seat / Leather Rear Seat Backrest, Remove and Install

Note:   The following operations on the rear seat are also to be carried out analogously on the rear seat backrest.

  Remove

Detach rear seat upholstery from cushion – see operation "Upholstery/Cushion – Rear Seat, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Cut open upholstery along perforated incisions. Cut off wiring connections with scissors.

Detach cover from cemented thermosensor and remove thermosensor.

Remove heater mat wiring harness and remove heater mat.

  Install

Insert new heater mat between upholstery and sewn-in intermediate layer, at the same time inserting wiring harness and fix heater mat at edges with double sided adhesive tape.

Caution

Cement heater mat fold-free with upholstery.

  Install

Position relays in cushion and push wiring harness plug through cushion (analogously to front seat).

Pull rear seat upholstery over rear seat cushion.

Note:   When putting together cushion and upholstery, ensure that no loops are formed in wiring harness (wire break hazard).

Engage seat release.

Connect wiring harness plug and install rear seat.

Note:   Confusion of wiring harness plugs is avoided through different versions.
