Damping Bushing – Front Bracket of Rear
Differential, Replace
Remove
Position hydraulic jack with KM-485 or KM-6195 under rear
differential.
Unclip wiring harness plug for wheel sensors (2) from vehicle
underbody.
Unscrew and remove retaining screws (1) for differential from
rear axle body.
Unscrew and remove differential bracket (3) from rear axle body.
Drain a small amount of oil from differential.
Unscrew and remove bracket (4) from differential.

Press damping bushing out of bracket with KM-833-3 (2) and
KM-833-1 (1).
Caution
Note correct position of recess (3) on KM-833-3 (2).
Install
Align new damping bushing (4) on bracket so that slots (arrows)
on rubber point vertically to bracket (illustration shows bracket
on removed rear differential and damping bushing pressed in). Press
damping bushing into bracket using KM-833-2 (5).
Caution
Note correct position of recess (3) on KM-833-3 (2).

Install
Insert fastening bolt in damping bushing, as bolt cannot be
installed when the bracket is installed. Install bracket on rear
differential – tightening torque 90 Nm / 67 lbf. ft., then
turn fastening bolt a further 45° + 15°.
Raise rear differential.
Fit front of differential (1 retaining screw) to rear axle body
– tightening 100 Nm / 74 lbf. ft., then continue turning
retaining screw through another 75° + 15°. Fit back of
differential (2 retaining screws) to rear axle body –
tightening torque 90 Nm / 66.5 lbf. ft., then continue turning
retaining screws through another 30° + 15°.
Lower hydraulic jack. Clip in wiring harness plug for wheel
sensor on vehicle underbody.
