Coolant Pump, Remove and Install
 Remove
|
Remove lower engine compartment cover.
Open coolant drain plug (1) on cylinder block. Collect escaping
coolant.
Remove charge air pipe – see operation "Charge Air Pipe,
Remove and Install".
Remove visco-fan – see operation "Visco-fan, Remove and
Install".
Remove ribbed V-belts – see operation "Ribbed V-belts,
Remove and Install".
Remove fastening bolts from coolant pump V-belt pulley.
Remove fastening bolts for coolant pump. Screw bolts (2) M6 in
thread of coolant pump. Remove coolant pump from timing case in
direction of arrow by uniformly turning bolts.

Install
Coat seal ring of coolant pump with silicone grease (white) and
attach to coolant pump. Attach coolant pump to timing case –
tightening torque 10 Nm / 7.5 lbf. ft.
Install fastening bolts from coolant pump V-belt pulley –
tightening torque 10 Nm / 7.5 lbf. ft.
Install ribbed V-belt – see operation "Ribbed V-belt,
Remove and Install".
Install visco-fan – see operation "Visco-fan, Remove and
Install".
Install charge air pipe – see operation "Charge Air Pipe,
Remove and Install".
Close coolant drain plug on cylinder block.
Install lower engine compartment cover - tightening torque 5 Nm
/ 3.7 lbf. ft.
Top up and bleed cooling system – see operation "Cooling
System, Top up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for
Leaks".
