Complaint: |
Sudden lack of power above 2500 rpm. |
Cause: |
1. Pressure hose between turbo charger and
charge cooler slides off. 2. Charge pipe leaky. |
Production: |
|
Remedy:
Replace pressure hose. Check charge pipe for leaks.
Replace pressure hose between turbo charger and intercooler:
Note: Don't use the slided pressure hose again. Because of oil-
dust from the turbocharger, the pressure hose gets oiled
inside and therefore a correct fitting is not possible.
In this case the tubocharger is not to replace.
Before mounting the new pressure hose the connection piece (A)
at the turbocharger has to be cleaned completely from oil and
lubricants. Mount the pressure hose without slip additive to assure
a tightly fitting.
As of VIN 142842 an additional supporting piece clamp (B) is
fitted to the engine bracket.
Fasten the clamp-hose slowly by hand (3,5 Nm) to take into
account a contraction in area of clamp-hose (material "flows")
After 30 min. the clamp is to fasten again.
Proccedings against lack of power above 2500 1/min:
1. Pressure hose (3) at turbocharger slides off:
Replace pressure hose, use new clamp-hose (2).
The pressure hose will be fastened with an additional
supporting clamp at the engine bracket to provide sliding off.
Presure hose assembley

2. Charge pipe (4) leaky:
Leaks at the charge pipe can be identified at oiled seams(X).
Frequent the leaks are in the area of the fastening (arrows).
Replace charge pipe.
