Attaching Parts from Cylinder Head, Detach and
Reattach
Note: The operation
"Attaching Parts from Cylinder Head, Detach and Reattach" is
described for a Z 22 XE Engine. Proceed analogously for other
engine versions.
 Remove
|
Detach intake manifold (1) from cylinder head (3) – remove
gasket (2).
Remove spark plugs out of cylinder head with KM-194-E.
Detach heat shield (4) from exhaust manifold (5).
Detach exhaust manifold from cylinder head – remove gasket
(6).
Detach thermostat housing (7) from cylinder head.

Note: Check/overhaul
cylinder head – see operation "Cylinder Head and Attaching
Parts, Check and Align" and/or "Cylinder Head, Overhaul".
 Clean
Clean all removed parts and sealing surfaces.
Install
Attach thermostat housing to cylinder head – tightening
torque 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.
Attach exhaust manifold to cylinder head with new gasket and new
fastening nuts – tightening torque 22 Nm / 16 lbf. ft.
Attach heat shield to exhaust manifold.
Install spark plugs with KM-194-E into cylinder head –
tightening torque 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft.
Attach intake manifold with new gasket to cylinder head.
