Notes on Trouble - shooting:

Cause of Fault:

·   Ignition ON

·   Plug connection for mass air flow meter P 44 connected

·   Measure voltage at mass air flow meter P 44 / Ter. 3 to Ter. 1 (using adapter cable)

11.5 to 13.5 V

·   Interruption or short circuit from

-    main relay K 43 / Ter. 87 to mass air flow meter Ter. 3

-    central ground to mass air flow meter P 44 / Ter. 1

·  Engine running at idle speed

·   Measure voltage at mass air flow meter P 44 Ter. 4 to Ter. 2 (using adapter lead)

0.5 to 1.5 V

·   Interruption or short circuit from

-    control unit K 61 / Ter. 7 to mass air flow meter Ter. 4

-    control unit K 61 / Ter. 30 to hot film mass air flow meter P 44 / Ter. 2

·   Intake system leaky or blocked ·       Hot film mass air flow meter P 44 defective

·   Control unit K 61 defective
