In these cases, a statement can
be made about:
Possible
remedies:
· Poor
fuel quality (octane rating too low): · Change fuel brand
· Carbon
deposits (deposits on piston head and valves): · Check compression
· Extreme
short distance operation (cause of carbon deposits)
The knock control is monitored /
checked by the control unit self - diagnosis and can only be simulated in
operation under extreme conditions and with some difficulty.
On fault recognition, the control unit retards the firing
angle by 1 0 OCA for reasons of safety to avoid damage to the engine.
