Table 4, Notes on "Engine Does Not Start"

 

Table 4 lists the tests required for when TECH 1 receives data from the control unit, no trouble codes are stored, but the engine still does not start.

 

·   Connect TECH 80

 

·   After vehicle identification, select test program "Workshop Test"

 

In this display, all information required for correct engine starting is collected, evaluated and displayed.

If there is no OPEL tester available, perform the following checks:

 

·   Battery (see also FO: DATA LIST, test step 01)

 

·   Starter

 

·   Compression

 

·   Primary voltage

 

·   Secondary voltage

 

·   CO and CH measurements

 

·   Injection pulse (see also FO: DATA LIST, test step 44 and F8: ECU CONTROL, test step 03)

 

·   Engine speed pulse from inductive pulse pick - up (see also FO: DATA LIST, test step 26)

 

·   Fuel pump relay (see also FO: DATA LIST, test step 19)

 

·   Injectors relay (see table 1, ALDL Diagnostic Plug, Voltage Supply and Auxiliary Fan for Electronics Box, Check, test step 09)
