This check can be performed in
two operating conditions: "ignition ON, engine OFF" or
"engine running at idle speed".
The first part of the check
should be performed if the engine cannot be started; otherwise the second
part ensures accurate diagnosis.
Check 1:
Ignition ON
Engine OFF

Note:
Intake pipe switchover valve
1 is actuated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz (actuation duration
1 s).
The check is completed after a
maximum of 30 s.
Effects:
Intake pipe switchover valve
1 is located in the intake plenum of the intake system. At engine speeds
above approx. 4200 rpm, it is switched from closed to open.
Check 2:
Engine running at idle speed
