Conditions for Checking

Affected Terminals: 25, 19

Possible Trouble Codes: 87, 88

Vehicles with AC:

This check can be performed in two operating conditions: "ignition ON, engine OFF" or "engine running at idle speed".

The first part of the check should be performed if the engine cannot be started; otherwise the second part ensures accurate diagnosis.

Check 1:

Ignition ON

Engine OFF

AC switch ON

Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.

Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

The AC cutoff relay

switches alternately

INACTIVE      12V

ACTIVE         0V

Noise check:

clicking noise from AC

clutch and from relay

Note:

After the test is started, the AC cutoff relay is actuated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz (actuation duration 1 s).

The check is completed after a maximum of 30 s.

Check 2:

Engine running at idle speed

AC switch ON

Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.

Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

Note:

The AC cutoff relay is actuated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz (actuation duration 1 s).

The check is completed after a maximum of 30 s.
