CAMSHAFT SENSOR

INCORRECT SIGNAL

-

·     The camshaft signal voltage level change does not occur between the 1 st and 6th crankshaft teeth on starting

·     If trouble code 92 and an engine speed higher than 8000 rpm were recognized, trouble code 19

       (crankshaft signal fault) is also stored

·     (Short circuit of signal lead to oscillator lead)

       (short circuit to ground or circuit interruption)

·     Above conditions must be fulfilled for at least 3.5 s

 

Replacement values:

Emergency operation:

·     If the fault occurs while the engine speed is increasing, the engine speed is limited to 4512 rpm, the ignition is retarded by 12 °CA and the knock control is blocked. If the fault occurs during operation, the engine continues functioning without limitations

 

Note:

An abrupt failure of the camshaft signal during operation (not loose contact) can only be recognized at the next engine start

 

Emergency operation remains active until next ignition Off
