For X 20 SE: Disconnect wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor on transmission.

Detach bracket (1) from exhaust pipe bracket. Remove front exhaust pipe (for X 20 SE with catalytic converter) from muffler.

Loosen fastening bolts (3), remove fastening bolts (2).

Remove front exhaust pipe (for X 20 SE with catalytic converter) from exhaust manifold.

Detach spark plug connectors from 2nd and 3rd cylinders, remove oil dipstick.

Remove heat shield sleeves (1) of 2nd and 3rd cylinders from cylinder head with KM-834-A. Detach exhaust manifold from cylinder head.

  Clean

Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket remnants.

  Install

Attach exhaust manifold with new gasket and new nuts to cylinder head – tightening torque 22 Nm / 16 lbf. ft. Attach heat sleeves to cylinder head with assembly paste (white) – tightening torque 25 Nm / 18.5 lbf. ft. Insert oil dipstick, connect spark plug connectors. Attach front exhaust pipe (for X 20 SE with catalytic converter) to exhaust manifold and muffler – tightening torque 25 Nm / 18.5 lbf. ft. Use new gasket and insert bolts with assembly paste (white). Attach bracket to exhaust pipe bracket – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft. For X 20 SE: Connect wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor and fasten to transmission.
