Subject:

Oil Mist and Residues in the Intake Tract and Exhaust Gas Turbocharger

Vehicles:

All Omega-B vehicles with 25 DT engines

Condition:

Oil residues in the intake tract and exhaust gas turbocharger can cause incorrect diagnoses, such as "Turbocharger leaking oil". The oil residues should be regarded as normal, so that replacement of the exhaust gas turbocharger is not necessary.

Note:          Residual oil not fed back to the crankcase via the oil separator precipitates in the form of oil mist in the intake tract. This precipitation can be reinforced, for example, by an excessively high engine oil level. Effects on engine functioning, oil consumption as well as the possibility of blue smoke in the exhaust do not exist.

Warranty claims for unjustifiably returned exhaust gas turbochargers will be rejected and the parts returned to sender.
