Only for vehicles with MOTRONIC and SIMTEC engine management systems.

·   Ignition OFF

·  Release wiring harness plug and disconnect from engine control unit K61 (MOTRONIC) or K69 (SIMTEC)

·   Release and disconnect 12-pin MID wiring harness plug

·   Using multimeter, measure voltage to ground in 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 1:

lower than 2 V

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance to ground at 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 1:

higher than 1.3 kW

·   MOTRONIC: Short circuit to + battery voltage or to ground in lead between 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 1 and fuel pump relay K44/Ter. 86 or engine control unit K61/Ter. 3 (via wiring harness plug connection X3/Ter. 9)

·  MOTRONIC: Short circuit to + battery voltage or to ground in lead between 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 1 and fuel pump relay K44/Ter. 85 or engine control unit K69/Ter. 15 (via wiring harness plug connection X3/Ter. 9)

·   Connect following terminals to ground  in engine control unit wiring harness plug:

     K61/Ter. 3 (MOTRONIC)

     K69/Ter. 15 (SIMTEC)

·   Measure resistance to ground in 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 1:

lower than 2 W

·   MOTRONIC: Interruption in lead between 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 1 and fuel pump relay K44/Ter. 86 or engine control unit K61/ Ter. 3 (via wiring harness plug connection X3/Ter. 9)

·   SIMTEC: Interruption in lead between 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 1 and fuel pump relay K44/Ter. 85 or engine control unit K69/Ter. 15 (via wiring harness plug connection X3/Ter. 9)
