Rear Fuel Lines, Remove and Install

Note:   This operation is described for an X 20 DTH engine. Proceed analogously for other engine versions.

Caution

Fuel escapes – observe safety measures and national legislation.

For vehicles with petrol engines: reduce fuel pressure with Pressure Tester KM-J-34730-91 via testing port – collect escaping fuel in suitable container.

  Remove

Open bonnet, disconnect battery

Remove panelling on floor of luggage compartment and detach installation cover from floor panel.

Mark installation position of rear fuel lines (3) and detach from fuel tank cover.

Detach fuel lines (1) and (2) from centre fuel lines using KM-796-A at quick fittings - close off fuel lines using KM-807 or KM-6015 and KM-6320.

Remove rear fuel lines.

  Install

Insert rear fuel lines.

Remove closure plug using KM-807 or KM-6015 and KM-6320.

Remove clip (2) from rear fuel lines, and insert them into bush (3) – ensuring that they engage on both sides. Push rear fuel lines (1) onto connectors until fuel lines are felt and seen to engage.

Attach rear fuel lines to fuel tank cover – note installation position markings.

Attach installation cover to floor panel and fit panelling on floor of luggage compartment.
