Unclip drivers side footwell panelling. Remove footwell ventilation duct. Remove clamping screw (1) from disc joint.

In vehicles with airbag: remove contact unit – see operation "Airbag Contact Unit, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Unfasten fastening screws (1) and fastening screws (2) of the signal switch housing and remove the two part signal switch housing. Unclip signal and wiper switch.

Lever upper and lower housing plugs (1) from switch housing, turn switch housing to left and remove. Disconnect lock cylinder and wiring harness plug for steering and ignition lock – see operation "Lock Cylinder for Steering and Ignition Lock, Remove and Install" in group "N". Pull steering shaft from steering column.

  Install

Slightly widen clamp of disc joint. Carefully insert steering shaft in steering column. Connect switch housing. Clip signal and wiper switch in. Bolt signal switch panelling on. Install lock cylinder for steering and ignition lock – see operation "Lock Cylinder for Steering and Ignition Lock, Remove and Install" in group "N".

In vehicles with Airbag: install contact unit – see operation "Airbag Contact Unit, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Install steering wheel – see operation "Steering Wheel and/or Slip Ring, Replace (Version without Airbag)" or "Steering Wheel, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Airbag)". Install ventilation duct, footwell panelling.
