Speed - dependent Power Steering (Servotronic)
The Omega - B is standard equipped with power steering. All models with 6 - cylinder engines are standard equipped with speed - dependent power steering (Servotronic).
The Servotronic is a microprocessor - controlled hydraulic power steering, the assistance of which is regulated depending on the vehicle speed.
For driving in the city and for parking, light steering is required for easy maneouvring of the vehicle. For the microprocessor - controlled Servotronic, this means that the actuating force required is reduced when steering at a standstill and at low speeds, thus considerably facilitating steering.
As the vehicle speed increases, the actuating force required for the steering wheel increases, giving the driver the sensation of uncompromised road contact.
