Important Information for Replacing Cemented Glass Screens > < Tailgate Screen, Remove and Install - Model F68

 

Subsequently adhere retaining plate for third brake light (up to MY '99)  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove remaining PU adhesive using sharp tool (scalpel). In doing so, be sure not to scratch imprint. Then clean.  

Remove residual PU adhesive from retaining plate adhesive surface using silicone remover. Sand down adhesive surface well (grain P 100), then clean.  

Both adhesive surfaces must be dry, and free of dust and grease.  

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Delimit adhesive surfaces with tape on the glass.  

Press adhesive out of dosing cartridge and mix.  

Notice: 

Join retaining plate and glass with adhesive within 5 minutes of mixing. Adhesive is ready for installation after 80 minutes at room temperature; heating up to max. 80 ° C shortens the hardening time. Apply adhesive over the entire surface 0.5 to 1.0 mm thick. Press on retaining plate and fix with adhesive tape. The brake lamp must not be installed until adhesive is fully hardened.

Model F19 (up to MY '99)  

 

Distance 2 to pane centre 1 = 116 mm  

Distance 3 to edge of PU outline = 70 mm  

  

Object Number: 2396725  Size: DEFAULT

Model F68 (up to MY '99)  

 

Distance 2 to pane centre 1 = 116 mm  

Distance 3 to edge of PU outline = 116.5 mm  

 

Press on retaining plate and fix with adhesive tape. Attach brake lamp.
