Repair Instructions for ABS-415, ABS 5/TC, ABS-430, ABS 5.3/TC

Notice:

For operations on the ABS system, observe safety regulations for brake system.

The entire ABS system must be checked after operations which affect the ABS-415, ABS-430, ABS 5/TC or ABS 5.3/TC assemblies (e.g. accident repairs).

The check may be performed using "TECH 1/TECH 1A or TECH 2" in conjunction with the relevant "Opel/Vauxhall MSC, Vectra-B MY '96" program module - see relevant Checking Procedures. A self-check of the ABS is performed when stationary with ignition switched on, this self-check may sometimes be audible as a result of the noises in the return pump.

For operations on vehicles with ABS system, the following must be noted:

-  Following operations on the brake system, the latter must be bled.

-  Check all connections for leaks.

-  Ensure proper seating of the battery connections.

-  When starting, do not use battery booster.

-  Ensure proper seating all wiring harness connections.

-  Never disconnect or insert multi-plug for wiring harness from the ABS control unit with ignition switched on.
