Compression Check for Vectra B DOHC Petrol Engine (X25XE, Y26SE)

 

Compression, Check  

Engine at operating temperature (oil temperature ≥ 80 ° C / 176 ° F).  

Object Number: 616191 Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

For X 25 XE: Open relay frame cover and remove fuel pump relay (1) from socket.  

Remove all spark plugs - see operation "Spark Plugs, Remove and Install (X 25 XE)" or "Spark Plugs, Remove and Install (Y 26 SE)". Detach wiring harness plug (2) from DIS ignition module.  

Object Number: 616196 Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

Use compression recorder with rubber cone and measuring range up to 1750 kPa (17.5 bar) gauge pressure. Actuate starter for approx. 4 seconds with throttle valve fully open - minimum engine speed 300 rpm. The pressure difference between individual cylinders should not exceed 100 kPa (1 bar).  

Object Number: 616201 Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

To open the throttle valve fully for Y 26 SE, this must be activated using TECH2 - see corresponding Checking Procedure.

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Attach wiring harness plug to DIS ignition module. Install all spark plugs - see operation "Spark Plugs, Remove and Install (X 25 XE)" or "Spark Plugs, Remove and Install (Y 26 SE)".  

For X 25 XE: Insert fuel pump relay into socket and close relay frame cover.
