Inlet Manifold - Upper Part, Remove and Install (X 16 XEL with Secondary Air System)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove engine cover from cylinder head cover.   Disconnect/detach all cable connections connected with wiring trough or wiring loom (1).   Unclip wiring trough from brackets (3 fastening points) and lay aside to rear with wiring loom.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Disconnect vacuum hose for secondary air switchover valve, engine vent hose (1), brake servo vacuum line (2) and vacuum hose for intake manifold pressure sensor (3) from inlet manifold. Push tank vent valve (4) upwards out of bracket and lay aside, disconnect vacuum hose for tank vent valve from inlet manifold.   Disconnect vacuum hose for fuel pressure regulator (5) from inlet manifold. Release fastening clamp (6) for unions.   Remove fastening bolts (8) from lower part of inlet manifold and fastening bolts (7) from cylinder head cover. Take out upper part of inlet manifold.     Clean    Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.

  Install, Connect   

Attach upper part of intake manifold (7) with new gasket to lower part of intake manifold and to cylinder head cover - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.   Tighten fastening clamp (6) for unions. Attach vacuum hose for fuel pressure regulator (5) to inlet manifold.   Vacuum hose for tank vent valve to inlet manifold and slide tank vent valve (4) into bracket. Attach vacuum hose for intake manifold pressure sensor (3), brake servo vacuum line (2), engine vent hose (1) and vacuum hose for secondary air switchover valve to upper part of inlet manifold. Clip wiring trough to inlet manifold and connect or attach all wiring harness plugs. Attach engine cover to cylinder head cover.
