Engine Vent Housing, Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove intake plenum - see operation "Intake Plenum, Remove and Install".   For X 25 XE: Detach spark plug connector for cylinders 1-3-5 from spark plugs with KM-836 - lay ignition cable aside to rear.   For Y 26 SE: Remove ignition modules - see operations "Ignition Module (Cylinders 1-3-5), Remove and Install (Y 26 SE)" and "Ignition Module (Cylinders 2-4-6), Remove and Install (Y 26 SE)".   Detach coolant lines from bracket and engine vent housing and lay aside to rear.   Detach engine vent hoses from engine vent housing.   Remove fastening bolts (1) for cable channel brackets and secondary air metal pipe from engine vent housing.   Remove engine vent housing (2) from cylinder block.     Important!    Carefully mask cylinder block opening - foreign bodies can cause severe engine damage.

  Clean   

Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.     Install, Connect    Version with paper gasket: Attach engine vent housing with new gasket to cylinder block - 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.   For version with adhesive sealing compound (white): Apply an approx. 2 mm (dimension I) thick bead of adhesive sealing compound (white) in groove of engine vent housing and install immediately while wet.   Attach engine vent housing to cylinder block - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.   Fasten secondary air metal pipe bracket and cable channel bracket to engine vent housing.   Attach engine vent hoses to engine vent housing.   For X 25 XE: Connect spark plug connectors of cylinder 1-3-5 to spark plugs - note ignition cable routing.   For Y 26 SE: Install ignition modules - see operations "Ignition Module (Cylinders 1-3-5), Remove and Install (Y 26 SE)" and "Ignition Module (Cylinders 2-4-6), Remove and Install (Y 26 SE)".   Install intake plenum - see operation "Intake Plenum, Remove and Install".
