Installation of Replacement Engine
Vehicles:
All vehicles with 1.4 and 1.6 16V engines
Condition:
We are receiving an increasing number of enquiries where replacement engines are isntalled and, after evaluation a "knock" from the top end is evident.
When replacing a 1.4 or 1.6 16V engine it is essential that the inlet manifold is thoroughly cleaned to remove any residual debris which has collected in the manifold from the original failure. Failure to follow this procedure may result in debris being drawn into the combustion chamber of the new unit.
Any subsequent warranty claims will be subject to a full investigation and, where debris is apparent, the unit will be returned to the Retailer and the claim debited accordingly.
