Throttle Body, Remove and Install (X 16 XEL without Secondary Air System)
Remove, Disconnect Detach engine cover (4) and engine vent hoses (3) from cylinder head cover. Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) from intake air temperature sensor and remove air intake hose (1) from upper part of air cleaner housing and from throttle body. Detach accelerator Bowden cable (11) from ball head and bracket. Detach camshaft sensor wiring harness plug (10), secondary air switchover valve (9) and remove from bracket. Disconnect wiring harness plug from throttle valve potentiometer (7), and disconnect from idle speed stepper motor (6). Remove coolant hoses (8) and tank vent valve vacuum hose (5) from throttle body. Remove fastening bolts (12) and take throttle body out of inlet manifold. |
|
Notice: When replacing throttle body: Transfer attaching parts.
Clean Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.
Install, Connect Attach throttle body with new gasket to intake manifold - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft. Connect coolant hoses and canister purge valve vacuum hose to throttle body. Connect wiring harness plug to throttle valve potentiometer and to idle speed stepper motor. Connect camshaft sensor wiring harness plug, secondary air switchover valve wiring harness plug and attach to bracket. Attach accelerator Bowden cable in ball head and bracket.
Notice: Before assembling components of the intake system (hoses, connections, etc.), they must be cleaned of any possible contamination (grease, oil, etc.). When tightening the hose clamps, be sure to observe exactly the tightening torque of 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.
Important! It is only ensured that the intake system is free of leaks, thus ensuring operational safety of the engine, if the hose clamps are tightened correctly to the prescribed tightening torque.
Install, Connect Attach air intake hose to upper part of air cleaner housing and throttle body. Connect wiring harness plug to intake air temperature sensor. Attach engine vent hoses and engine cover to cylinder head cover. Top up cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
