Toothed Belt, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove front toothed belt cover - see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".  

Object Number: 616198  Size: DEFAULT  Adjust   

At fastening bolt of toothed belt drive gear, turn crankshaft slowly and smoothly in direction of engine rotation to mark (3).  

At the same time, the grooves on the camshaft pulleys must align with the marks (1) on the cylinder head cover. Fix camshaft pulleys with KM-853 (2).  

Loosen fastening bolt of toothed belt tension roller and turn adjustment eccentric in direction of arrow (clockwise) until pointer (4) is at left stop. Mark rotational direction of toothed belt and remove toothed belt.

Before installation, the toothed belt must be checked for kinking and cracks and must be replaced if necessary. Toothed belts and toothed belt tension rollers which are contaminated with oil must generally be replaced. Install the toothed belt on a cold engine - room temperature.  

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Install toothed belt - ensure that tensioned side (I) is taut.  

Observe timing marks. Adjust toothed belt tension - see operation "Toothed Belt Tension, Adjust".  

Install front toothed belt cover - see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".  

Notice: 

Document the replacement of the toothed belt on the sticker provided.
