Engine Control Unit, X 18 XE and X 20 XEV  

Installation position:  

The engine control unit for the X 18 XE and X 20 XEV engines is located in the plenum chamber (co-driver's side) below the water deflector.  

The alterations relative to the engine control unit for the X 20 XEV engine in the Vectra-A/Cavalier are:  

-  altered terminal assignment  

-  new trouble codes/designations  

-  FLASH programming function  

• Service  

The control unit hardware is new. However, in contrast to the previous engine control unit, it can be programmed - see section 2.9 "FLASH Programming".
