Shift Lever Block
Vehicles:
All Corsa-B, Tigra, Astra-F Cabrio, Vectra-B and Omega-B vehicles with automatic transmission in conjunction with shift lever block as of MY ‘98
Subject:
The application of the shift lever block in the above vehicles is published in the brochure "New Technical Features, Model Year '98”. The battery can become discharged on these vehicles if parked for a long period , e.g., overnight, with the ignition key inserted and the selection lever not located in the "P" position.
Remedy:
The ignition key must be removed from the ignition of all of the above vehicles (when fitted with automatic transmissions as of Model Year ‘98) if parked for long periods, including overnight. The battery can become discharged if the ignition key is not removed and the acoustic signal (on opening the driver's door) is ignored.
