Axle Shaft Seal Rings, Replace  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove affected axle shaft from transmission - see operation "Axle Shaft, Remove and Install" in group "E".   Only for V6 and Y 22 DTR: Remove intermediate shaft - see operation "Intermediate Shaft, Remove and Install" in group "E".   With all vehicles: remove affected axle shaft seal ring with MKM-557 (1).     Install, Connect    Coat new axle shaft seal ring with transmission fluid and drive in:   For F 13, F 15 and F 17   - use KM-446-5 (2).   For F 18, F 18+ and F 25, F 35   - use KM-519.     Install intermediate shaft (only for V6 and Y 22 DTR) and axle shaft - see operation "Intermediate Shaft, Remove and Install" and "Axle Shaft, Remove and Install" in group "E".
